Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spiky blonde hair and a exuberant personality, shares easy techniques to master and reduces anxiety about restaurant food in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine traditions and geography. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a youngster, growing up in New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree as well as a communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was impossible to learn, do or work enough. After graduating Chef Burrell resided in Italy for a whole year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which left a lasting impact from a culinary point of view. Burrell is a well-known ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps children with obstacles. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion, and also shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she goes on trips across the USA in various roles such as speakers and mentors. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she often says that she feels extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my true passion for life with people.
